Kakashi felt static go through him.

The group had already made it to (I/n) and were making their way through the grey forest. Sai hard worked hard to get them all to the Island as quick as possible, and his hard work paid off. Kakashi wasn't sure how long it would have normally taken to get to (I/n), but he knew that getting there in less than a day must have been a record breaker.

After they had gotten to the island, Sai lead them to to a cave in the ground that he said you had taken him to. Once there, Kakashi told Sai to stay there and rest, Sai protested, but Kakashi could tell that he couldn't do much in his current state.

"Sai, you have to stay here. You're in no condition to go any further." Kakashi had said.

"But Kakashi Sensei,"

"Sai, don't be reckless. We'll leave a trail so if we don't come back in a reasonable amount of time, you'll be able to catch up to us. For now, try and get your strength back. Got it?"

"...Yes."

"Good. The sooner you rest, the sooner you'll be able to effectively help us."

"Right." Sai nodded.

Now they were at the edge of the forest. Fertari had lead them all through the forest without a word and the closer they got, the more Kakashi felt a trap coming.

They had come to a still at the forest line. Taking time to look upon the wide field that separated them from the city; if you could call it that from this vantage point. To Kakashi, the place looked like a fortress or a prison, but that was merely due to the large, towering walls that encased the city. It also looked as if it had been built on the side of a mountain, split in the middle almost exactly where there was a long canyon doing up the length of the mountain.

Kakashi hadn't thought that the city would be like this. The walls and the city being split in two made it almost impossible to infiltrate the city and find you. Taking into account that you were only on one side of the city, that meant that they had a fifty-fifty chance of choosing the right side to infiltrate. Then, there was the actual infiltration. Considering that none of them, save Fertari, who probably wasn't going to divulge what precautions the city had to keep out invaders, knew what to expect. There could be archers or men hiding in the walls just waiting for someone to take the chance; sounds crazy, but not unlikely..

Kakashi sighed. Though it wasn't one hundred percent impossible, the chances of succeeding was very slim, and called for a lot of luck; which neither him Shino or Kiba were known for having.

Just as Kakashi was contemplating the groups next steps, There was a large explosion within the walls of the left city. Kakashi couldn't see where the explosion came from, but he could see black smoke rising. There was another explosion; Closer this time.

The entire group was still; not knowing what to do. Soon came another explosion came. This time it seemed like it was just at the other side of the wall. Fertari sprung into the open field and dashed towards the city. Kakashi didn't stop her. Given the explosions, it seemed as if the city was under attack and , under all the confusion, Kakashi could use this to get into the city. Fertari would most likely go to her captain or whoever she reports to in order to find out what happened and that person would probably know where you were. As the pieces of this new plan came together, there was another explosion. The explosion was at the wall this time. Pieces of stone and gravel shot out from the wall and when the smoke cleared  there was an opening the size of the Konrad gate entrance.

Kakashi watched as Fertari changed directions and bolted towards the gaping hole in the wall.

"Lets go!" Kakashi yelled, running out into the open.

"Finally some action!" Kiba yelled as he followed Kakashi out of the dense forest. Akamaru yipped in delight with his master; Shino followed behind without a word.

Fertari finally got to the hole and jumped through; only to be shot back out. Her body flew like a piece of paper after a harsh gust of wind and she was carried almost all the way back to the forest line.

When Kakashi looked back to the hole, his body didn't hesitate.

He ran faster than he thought he could towards the hole; or the figure standing at that hole.

It was you.

You, (F/n) (L/n). Kakashi didn't have to look for you. You were there and Kakashi needed to bring you back to him.

When Kakashi finally got to you, he made to grad you as quickly as possible, but he stopped when he saw your face. You were mush paler and you looked emaciated, but what caught Kakashi off guard the most was your eyes and the smile on your face.

Your eyes were glowing. They reminded Kakashi of the sun due to their sheer brightness. Kakashi inched closer and gently clasped you face between his palms, lowering himself until he was at eye level.

"(F..F/n)." He said softly.

You hummed and your smile grew wider.

"I give her back to you..."

And with that, you fell into Kakashi's arms; unconscious.

Kakashi, though puzzled and worried, picked you up without hesitation and dashed back towards the forest.

Just as he and the others where within yards of the tree line, they were abruptly stopped as Fertari blocked their path.

Kakashi gripped you tighter and held you closer.

"I cannot let you leave."

"Then you'll have to be put down." Kiba cut in, fags and claws at the ready.

Fertari ignored Kiba's statement and focused on Kakashi.

"I won't let you leave with her." She stated, her eyes narrowing.

"Then you'll have to be put down, just as Kiba said."

"That's fine, I just have to keep you here until the others come."

"Ha, Fine with me!" Kiba got down on all fours and prepared to attack. "And I don't like being ignored!" Kiba launched himself towards Fertari.

She dodged him easily. She wasn't at all fazed by Kiba and instead of responding to his challenge, she focused her attention to Kakashi. Before Kiba could launch another attack, Fertari was already going after Kakashi. Kiba caught up quickly to her and attacked once more; coming up beside her and swiping his claws towards her face.

She dodged again, jumping back a few paces.

"What, you gotta thing for Kakashi?" Kiba stood beside Kakashi, Smirking. Kakashi growled under his breath.

Reluctantly, Kakashi handed you Kiba. Without another word, he slowly started towards Fertari.

"Awwww, Come on Kakashi Sensei! I wanted to fight her!" Kiba yelled.

Kakashi looked back at Kiba, the mere look in his eye silencing the Inuzuka. Kiba gulped as Kakashi turned his attention back to Fertari.

"Looks like someones loved, a lot." Kiba mumbled looking at your unconscious form.

Kakashi wasted no time. The moment Fertari was in range he launched a few Kunai at her. She dodged them easily, but Kakashi anticipated that. As she dodged the last one Kakashi had already made it behind her. His kunai in root to run through her neck.

She dodged by a hairs breathe.

"You wont escape. (S/n) will be here soon and you will not be able to defeat her."

Kakashi anticipated this and was hot on her tail. He didn't acknowledge her statement with a response.

The two of them were now in hand to hand combat. Though it was entirely one sided. Kakashi blocked her attacks easily while she just barely escaped his.

The fight continued like this for a while and Fertari was getting tired. Kakashi knew that she was stalling and decided that enough was enough. Kakashi dropped and spun, extending his leg to swipe her under her feet. Fertari jumped and smirked.

"I'm not going to fal-" Before she could finish Kakashi took hold of her neck and slammed her into the ground. Kakashi kept his hold on her neck and squeezed until she started clawing at his arm; though he tightened his grip despite her actions.

Kakashi scowled. It had been so long since he'd been this angry. This weak girl was trying to keep him away from you, trying to keep you here to be tortured by this "(S/n)". The mere thought made his blood boil even more. Just as her thrashing slowed, Kakashi felt teeth bit down softly on his arm.

He looked to Akamaru who was trying to tug his arm away from Fertari's neck. Kakashi frowned.

"Kiba..."

"It doesn't feel right to just kill her like that...ya' know."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, it's not like we have to kill her. We could just tie her to a tree or something and be on our way. There's no need to kill her like that."

Kakashi turned back towards the almost unconscious girl. He didn't feel like this was wrong at all.

"I warned her that this would happen if she tried anything..."

He took a deep breath, then loosened his hand. Pulling it out of Akamaru's jaw.

"Fine, go ahead and tie her up." He sighed, got up and took you from Kiba's arms.

After Fertari was tightly tied up to on of the trees at the edge of the forest the three of them went back into the forest to the underground hideout where Sai still was.

"Do you think you have enough chakra to take us back?" Kakashi asked Sai after they'd all settled into the underground cavern.

"I can try, but I don't think I'll be able to do it just yet."

"That's fine, we can wait here for the time being." Kakashi held you on his lap as he sat.

Now that you were finally back, Kakashi felt relief. His heart was more at ease than it had been for the last couple weeks. He leaned on the cave wall and closed his eyes.
